Epiphany Season Gospel Folio
Hand-bound double-sided 15x13 book with digital canvas print and metallic acrylic paint, 2020
One of a series of Gospel folio books commissioned by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Seattle. The books are designed to hold the gospel readings for the church service. They are carried to the altar in the processional, and carried to the middle of the church aisle to be read aloud.
This folio for the weeks after Epiphany features Christ’s entrance into ministry—the wedding at Cana with his mother Mary, and his baptism in the Jordan with his cousin John. The four gospel beasts appear in a cloud around Christ and Mary.
This image is partially iridescent—which you can see in this video of the folio being held and opened.
